This is a private school....they have the right to set their rules. From what I read, she signed a contract which included the guidelines of the Catholic teachings.

With all due respect, Jumper, I see Lake's point
    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Psst...Lew....

In all honesty, I see it too. I was just yankin her chain. hehehehe.....

People like Lake....IMHO....are part of the problem. Accepting church doctrine without so much as a question. I guess that's why they call it faith.

If a priest tells me that if I don't confess my sins or take the sacrement or whatever ritual it is, I won't get into heaven. Well I have to question if that is what a benevolent God also believes.

Likewise, if the Church says I have to stay married to an adulterer because divorce is verbotten what then? What if he beats on me? I get divorced and suddenly I'm not worthy?? God won't love me??

Or I'm a teacher in a catholic school and make a mistake and get pregnant. Not only am I fired but I've committed a sin in the eyes of the church. But before my mistake, I tithed 20% of my salary to the church. I "adopted" an underprivleged family and provided them food and clothing. I was a mentor to challenge students and helped them get into college. But one mistake and I'm not worthy of God's love.

    All religion is bullshit.

God didn't make those silly Catholic (or Baptist or Methodist or Lutheran, etc.) rules. People did.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Exactly my point. So why do people like Lake think the Catholic Church is the "way"??? Why does religion exist then? I believe in God. Just not the Church. Are the two mutually exclusive? Can a person believe in God without subscribing to a particular faith. And if that's true, why does religion then attempt to make you feel as if you will not asend to the heavens unless you believe what they want you to believe?

It's all too hypocritical for me. And again....faith over intellect.
